Orders, shipping & subscriptions

Every NOW or LAB kit includes the testing supplies listed on its product page plus complimentary access to AquaIRIS, our digital reporting platform, where you can record results, store lab reports and track your testing history by practice and operatory.

Choose the kit size that fits your practice and select monthly or quarterly delivery. We ship the same kit on that schedule, you save 5% on every recurring order, and each delivery is shipped as a new order with its own tracking. You can pause, change or cancel any time from the order status page.

Orders are typically prepared within one to two business days and shipped from our laboratory in Homewood, Alabama. You will receive an email with tracking details as soon as your kit ships.

Yes. Visit the order status page and enter your order number and email to see shipping progress, tracking numbers and any active subscription.

AquaDENTAL is a product brand of I-2-I Solutions, which operates an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory. LAB samples are analyzed using Standard Methods 9215C (spread plate) with R2A agar.

AquaDENTAL NOW

You collect a small water sample from the dental unit waterline you want to check, apply it to the AquaDENTAL NOW tester according to the step-by-step instructions, and let it incubate. After the incubation period you read the result against the defined CFU/mL ranges on the reading guide, then record it for your practice's testing log or in AquaIRIS.

Testers are read after incubation, typically 24 to 48 hours at room temperature as described in the kit instructions. Reading too early can under-estimate growth, so follow the timing printed in your instructions and note the read time on your log.

CFU/mL stands for colony-forming units per milliliter and is the standard way of expressing the number of culturable heterotrophic bacteria in a water sample. For routine nonsurgical dental treatment water, CDC recommends meeting the EPA drinking-water standard of ≤500 CFU/mL. AquaDENTAL NOW presents results as defined ranges so your team can quickly see whether a waterline falls within or above that benchmark.

Each dental unit has its own waterlines, and biofilm can develop independently in each one, so monitoring every unit that delivers treatment water gives you the clearest picture. CDC recommends consulting the dental-unit and water-treatment-product manufacturers for appropriate monitoring methods and frequency. Many practices test every operatory on a routine schedule and retest individual units when a result is elevated or after maintenance.

Pooling (combining water from several lines into one sample) can hide an individual line with high counts, because the other lines dilute it. For that reason most guidance recommends sampling each waterline or device separately. If you do pool samples for convenience, an elevated result should be followed by individual testing to identify the source.

Yes. Treatment products (tablets, cartridges, straws, shock treatments) are designed to control biofilm, but testing is how you verify that the product and your maintenance routine are actually working. Monitoring lets you confirm results, document them, and catch changes before they become a problem.

AquaDENTAL NOW is a screening test that reports results as defined CFU/mL ranges, which is well suited for routine monitoring and for deciding whether a waterline needs attention. When you need a specific numeric result from an accredited laboratory, for example to investigate an elevated screening result or to build a formal record, AquaDENTAL LAB provides SM 9215C R2A heterotrophic plate count analysis.

AquaDENTAL LAB

Each kit includes sample vials, a sampling form, an insulated mailer with an ice pack and a prepaid return-shipping label. Collect water from each waterline following the instructions, label the vials, complete the form, pack everything in the mailer and drop it with the carrier. Overnight shipping is included so samples reach our laboratory the next day.

Heterotrophic plate count analysis requires an incubation period, so results are typically ready 5 to 7 days after your samples arrive at the lab. You will be notified by email when your report is available in AquaIRIS.

Samples are analyzed in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory operated by I-2-I Solutions using Standard Methods 9215C (spread plate) with R2A agar, the heterotrophic plate count method widely preferred for dental unit water because it recovers the slow-growing organisms typical of waterline biofilm.

Your report lists each sample with its location (practice and operatory), collection date, the CFU/mL result and how it compares to the ≤500 CFU/mL benchmark. Reports are stored in AquaIRIS alongside your testing history so you can review trends over time.

Yes. Keep samples refrigerated until shipping if you cannot ship them the same day, and ship with the included ice pack so they arrive chilled. Avoid freezing the samples.

An elevated result is a signal to review your waterline maintenance program: follow the dental-unit and water-treatment-product manufacturers' instructions (which may include a shock treatment), then retest to confirm the correction worked. Our Resources Hub has a detailed guide on what to do when a result exceeds 500 CFU/mL, and our team is available to help.
